MASTER'S OF FUTURE Expert Module – zirconia suprastructure design using the split bar function in Exocad. ​

The purpose of this training is to introduce participants to the world of digital design for full All-on-X restorations, utilizing a titanium implant bar and a zirconia suprastructure. The training is in a workshop format, so participants will design a bar and zirconia suprastructure, then characterize and add gingival ceramic.

Difficulty Level:
This basic training is intended for dentists and dental technicians who know the basics of digital dentistry and Exocad design and wish to expand their skills.

What we use:
During the training, milling machines from various manufacturers (imes-icore, Aidite, Zotion) will be used. Workstations with the full version of Exocad will be available.

9:00–9:15 Welcome

15 minutes to introduce the instructors, tour the facilities, and discuss the equipment that will be used.

9:15–11:30 Titanium Bar Design

  • Theoretical introduction to proper titanium bar design
  • Demonstration of designing the bar on X implants

11:30–13:00 Zirconia Suprastructure Design

  • Explanation of the rules for suprastructure design on a titanium bar, using a pre-op scan
  • Demonstration of zirconia suprastructure design on the previously designed titanium bar
  • Milling of the zirconia suprastructure with a brief overview of the milling machine’s CAM software

13:00–13:45 Lunch Break

13:45–20:00 Characterization

  • Veneering and characterization of the previously prepared zirconia suprastructure using XXX ceramic and YYY characterization kit
  • Cutting out the milled suprastructure from the zirconia disc
  • Demonstration of proper finishing, zirconia characterization, and adding anatomical details before sintering
  • Q&A session
  • Training summary and distribution of participation certificates
